To the editor:
I respect the many male candidates running for President, but, frankly, I think it is time for a woman to take charge of our country. And I believe that woman is Elizabeth Warren.
We have seen men run this country for way too long and they have literally dismantled it a piece at a time.
I’m happy to say that President Obama agrees with me. Recently he said that, “Now women, I just want you to know; you are not perfect, but what I can say pretty indisputably is that you’re better than us [men].” He added, “if every nation on earth was run by women, you would see a significant improvement across the board on just about everything… living standards and outcomes….”
Since the 2016 election, many, many women have put themselves out there by running for office, at the local, state, and Federal level. Many have won and are doing great work. With more women in government, we have seen national conversations around paid family leave, universal childcare, and other important economic policies that were not a part of the conversation until women got involved.
Elizabeth Warren is widely credited for her original thinking, political courage, and relentless persistence that led to such achievements as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. She’s spent her career taking on powerful interests and fighting to give every family the same chances to be successful.
I am inspired that Elizabeth Warren is running for President and she has my vote.
