The second monthly event of the New Year in the Notes series will be held Tuesday, Feb. 4 at Sunflowers in Jaffrey.

Sunflowers and Wendy Keith are presenting another diverse evening that combines both live original music and spoken word in an intimate and inspiring evening.

At 7 p.m., the entertainment will start off with singer songwriter, Robert Allwarden. He is a veteran educator of 25 years and he has been recording music for children as well as creating pedagogy books for recorder. Allwarden has played at the Folkway in the 80’s and plays at LaBelle Winery. He is currently in the process of recording original songs.

Following Allwarden will be writer and poet, Ruslyn Vear. Vear has been a nurse and a librarian and lives in Amherst. She plays with words as a keen observer of clouds and other New Hampshire wonders beyond her kitchen window.

Stacia Tolman has published a YA novel, “The Spaces Between Us”. She has taught high school English and the characters in her book are described as “vivid, layered and stunningly realistic.”

Finally, singer songwriter and recording artist, Kim Wallach returns. She has been a performer, a Master’s level educator, and has been part of the folk scene since 1979. Wallach has completed a YA novel, called “The Songfighters” and is working on an illustrated book of action songs for children.

A light buffet supper including dessert will be presented at a nominal fee beginning at 6 p.m. Reservations are strongly recommended.
