The Main Street Bridge in Peterborough was closed to all traffic Monday morning, marking the long awaited start of a two-year bridge rehabilitation project.
The $8 million project is expected to be fully completed by the end of 2021.
The bridge is expected to be open to one-way traffic entering downtown until major bridge work, expected to start in March, will again close the bridge to all traffic, town officials say.
