Artist Stacy Hannings will lead off the new year at the Hancock Town Library with an exhibit of her work, A Closer Look: Photographs & Sculpture of Life in the Garden, from Jan. 4 through Feb. 12.
Photography of the natural world and its constant motion has been Hanningsโs primary means of expression; however, she also creates sculpture from natural and manmade materials. Growing up in an artistic family and spending much time outdoors nurtured her creative talents and connection to nature.
โIn my art I have focused on transience, the idea that everything is constantly changing and in motion,โ Hannings said.
A native of Greenfield, Hannings received a BFA from Colby-Sawyer College. In addition to pursuing a career in art, she has been the farmstand manager at Rosalyโs Garden, which has provided a bounty of inspiring subject matter for her artwork. She is currently employed with Monadnock Ledger-Transcript.
