Artist Stacy Hannings will lead off the new year at the Hancock Town Library with an exhibit of her work, A Closer Look: Photographs & Sculpture of Life in the Garden, from Jan. 4 through Feb. 12.

Photography of the natural world and its constant motion has been Hanningsโ€™s primary means of expression; however, she also creates sculpture from natural and manmade materials. Growing up in an artistic family and spending much time outdoors nurtured her creative talents and connection to nature.

โ€œIn my art I have focused on transience, the idea that everything is constantly changing and in motion,โ€ Hannings said.

A native of Greenfield, Hannings received a BFA from Colby-Sawyer College. In addition to pursuing a career in art, she has been the farmstand manager at Rosalyโ€™s Garden, which has provided a bounty of inspiring subject matter for her artwork. She is currently employed with Monadnock Ledger-Transcript.
