The Grand Monadnock Youth Choirs is holding auditions for singers in grades 2 through 8 for the spring 2020 concert season: Around the World.
Private auditions are 15 minutes and must be scheduled in advance. The final Peterborough audition is scheduled for Jan. 22 at the Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m.
In addition to traditional auditions, on the first rehearsals of the season, GYMC will host “Bring a Buddy” where both interested and current singers are encouraged to bring a friend to rehearsal to experience choral singing with other passionate young people.
The schedule for “Bring a Buddy” auditions include:
■Tuesday, Jan. 21, grades 2 through 4, 4 to 5 p.m., grades 5 through 8, 5:15 to 6:30 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church in Keene.
■Wednesday, Jan. 22, grades 5 through 8, Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church in Peterborough.
■Wednesday, Jan. 29, grades 2 through 4, at Peterborough Unitarian Universalist Church in Peterborough.
GMYC is comprised of five ensembles – Choristers, Trebles, Elm City Singers, Keene Youth Chorus, and the Cecilia Ensemble – based in Peterborough and Keene. There are about 100 singers from more than 20 towns across New Hampshire, Massachusetts, and Vermont.
