To the editor:
A vote for either Warren or Sanders in the Primary is, in effect, a vote for Trump because they both scare a lot of independents and moderate-leaning Democrats who just want an alternative to Trump. Joe Biden, who remains the national favorite, has mainstream, progressive views and the ability to unify the country.
We need to be practical and vote for the candidate who can win. Biden is the candidate Trump fears the most because Biden can defeat Trump by the biggest margin, as we’ve seen in countless polls. A narrow victory by Warren or Sanders or even Buttigieg could provoke Trump, Fox News, and their followers to continue undermining our democracy. We need stability and unity, both of which a President Biden would be able to foster.
