To the editor:

Joel Huberman’s letter on Christmas Eve relating to climate change, and the ways in which facts are distorted to distract us from its significance is important for two reasons.

First, this information is vitally important and predicts our future if we fail to act now.

Second, it confirms why our political system needs to review their course and revise direction on these issues. Business priorities should not indirectly promote reduced survival on this planet. It is vitally essential for our political system to get strongly behind our need to reduce CO2 emissions, also emissions of other gases that reflect heat back towards the globe. Thermal insulation in buildings, efficient heating systems, efficient fuel systems in transport, even electric cars, generation of power that does not liberate CO2 and many other considerations are essential.

Now is the time.
