With just six days remaining in 2019 – and the hustle and bustle of the holiday season in the rearview mirror – it’s time to let loose a little bit.

Sure, New Year’s Eve is an obvious choice to go out and enjoy some festivities, which is all well and good, but between now and then there’s plenty to see and do.

Who says you need to wait for the final night of the year to live it up?

Dec. 27

■Musicians, poets, and other performers will fill the Dublin Community Center for the monthly Dubhub Open Mic series starting at 7 p.m.

■The Toll Booth Tavern at Crotched Mountain Golf Club in Francestown will be rocking with the arrival of Sheepdip for a show at 7 p.m.

■The Peterborough Concert Series begins a big two-night weekend with Grateful Ball at 8 p.m. at the Peterborough Town House. It’s a night of Grateful Dead featuring Tony Markellis of the Trey Anastasio Band and Zach Nugent, formerly of Jerry Garcia Band.

■Keep the Grateful Dead times going by heading over to Harlow’s Pub in Peterborough for Tyler Allgood. It starts with moving originals, followed by an acoustic Grateful Dead set with special guests.

Dec. 28

■The circus is coming to town! New Hampshire’s premier youth circus operation, Flying Gravity, will be putting on a show that you’ll want to step right up to. The second annual Starburst family-friendly circus extravaganza will take over the Auditorium at Pine Hill starting at 5:30 p.m. featuring alumni and friends of the program who have gone on to professional circus careers.

■Don’t miss America’s premier tribute to the Eagles, with Another Tequila Sunrise at the Peterborough Town House, the second of back-to-back shows put on by the Peterborough Concert Series starting at 8 p.m.

■Matt Beaudin, known around here as Matt the Sax, will be at Harlow’s Pub at 8:30.

Dec. 31

■Cooper’s Hill Public House in Peterborough has planned 200 Whiskeys for 2020. Celebrate the release of Cooper’s latest whiskey book and reaching its goal of 200 different whiskeys, just in time for the new year. It will be a good old fashioned New Year’s Eve party with all the expected fun, including drink specials, and of course, a bubbly toast at midnight. Starting at 9 p.m., Ethan McBrien, a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist originally from Dublin, will perform.

■Looking for something to do during the day? The Peterborough Labyrinth will be open from 1 to 8 p.m. and you can even help create the annual maze from 9 a.m. to noon. It will also be open on New Year’s day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a closing ceremony at 5.

■If a little dancing is on your list of things to do, head over to the Nelson Town Hall for the New Year’s Eve Potluck Dinner and Contra Dance starting at 7 p.m. Music and calling by Harvey Tolman, Lloyd Carr, Roger Treat, Lisa Sieverts, and friends will help usher in 2020.
