To the editor:

The ethics probe reported on in the Nov. 12 edition was incomplete. If Doug Ley had a conflict of interest, so did each and every legislator that “owns a business that pays a wage, or works where their job sets, bargains or arbitrates wages and benefits.”

I believe an “informal resolution” was issued so the issue could yield the headline “House Dem Rebuked in Ethics Probe” yet avoid any real in depth discussion on the conflict issue. How many NH legislators fit the my definition of wage or benefit conflict? Is our governor involved in discussions or does he benefit from setting private wages and benefits? Does the governor have a conflict of interest when he signs anything about unions and wages?

I feel the story got a headline that casts a bad light on a Democrat and allows others that should have some ink to escape.
