A proposed 135-foot cell tower is up for discussion at the Antrim Planning Board meeting on Thursday evening.
This proposal is coming while the Planning Board continues to discuss amending the zoning ordinance to change maximum cell tower heights to 150 feet from the existing 100 foot minimum.
The tower is a part of a Personal Wireless Facility proposed by Cellco Partnership and Verizon Wireless for 80 Smith Road, Tax Map 233, Lot 062 in the Rural District.. Should the Board accept the application as complete, it will move immediately into public hearing on the merits of the proposal.
The Planning Board began to consider the proposed tower height amendment to the Zoning Ordinance on their Nov. 7 meeting, but elected to resume the public hearing on the Dec. 5 meeting.
The Planning Board meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Antrim Town Hall.
