Brandon Blair celebrated his first month as Dublin’s newest full-time police officer on Thursday. The Dublin Police force dropped to just one full-time officer at the start of October.
“I’m just excited to be here,” Blair said.
He started his career as a part-time officer five years ago, most recently serving as a full-time officer in Ware, Massachusetts. He said he came to the area to start a family with his girlfriend, and will be having a child in February. He said his workload is much lighter in Dublin than it was in Ware – but sees the change as positive: “It was nonstop over there.”
Officer Lionel Emond was sworn in and pinned as a part-time patrolman for Dublin on Oct. 14 as well. Emond continues to serve as a part-time officer in Peterborough, said Peterborough Police Chief Scott Guinard.
“He’s been working with me for a number of years,” Guinard said, and that Emond used to work for the Cheshire County Sheriff’s Department.
The Jaffrey police department is in the hiring process for a new officer after Officer Amanda Swanson moved out of state in mid-October. Swanson had served the department since Feb. 2018.
Mason Police Chief Kevin Maxwell said they expected to hire a new officer in the next couple weeks as well.
