Warm thanks to Francie Von Mertens for her quarter-century of wonderful, educational, and entertaining “Backyard Birder” columns and to the Monadnock Ledger-Transcript for running them.
I am one of many, many readers who will greatly miss Francie Von Mertens’s informative updates on the natural world, just one of her many generous contributions to our well-being.
Susie Spikol and Brett Amy Thelen have both already demonstrated in these pages their own impressive knowledge and writing skills, so the Ledger-Transcript leaves us in very good hands, but we will miss Francie Von Mertens.
