On Sunday, Nov. 17 at 3 p.m. the jazz and ragtime quintet Mill City Rags promises to start toes tapping at the First Church in Jaffrey. These musicians particularly enjoy playing 1920s and 1930s tunes and will showcase classic jazz group sound, riffs, plus call-and-response techniques.
Jaffrey resident JoAnn Goerde, long known locally in New Hampshire and Massachusetts for her amazing drum-playing, brings fellow jazz/rag aficionados Jimmy, Rick, Arthur and Nicolle to Jaffrey.
The group plays weekly in Lowell, Massachusetts and occasionally in Manchester. This is the first time they will perform in the Monadnock region.
A free-will contribution is requested. The red brick First Church is across from the historic Meetinghouse.
