Are you ready for a show that Broadway World calls “a treat for the whole family”?

Come see The Edge Ensemble Theatre Company’s production of Larry Shue’s uproarious comedy, “The Nerd”, on Nov. 15-17 and Nov. 21-24 in the newly renovated Heberton Hall, adjacent to the Keene Public Library.

Directed by Kim Dupuis, “The Nerd” follows a mild-mannered architect, Willum Cubbert (played by Tom Bernstock), who needs a little “gumption,” according to his friend and potential love interest, weather girl Tansy McGinnis (played by Kenzie Yelin).

The arrival of an old army buddy, Rick Steadman (James Duffy as the title Nerd), sends Willum’s life into a tailspin and tests whether he has what it takes to stand up to the disruptive, socially inept Rick.

Shue is known for “The Foreigner”, which has been widely performed in this area. “The Nerd” was first presented at the Milwaukee Repertory Theater in April 1981, with the author in the title role. The play opened on Broadway in 1987, running for 441 performances.

Performances of “The Nerd” will be Friday, Nov. 15, and Saturday, Nov. 16, at 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m.; Thursday, Nov. 21, Friday, Nov. 22, Saturday, Nov. 23 at 7:30 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 24, at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $15 for general admission and $12 for seniors and students.
