College cross-country runners from area towns have reached the conference championship portion of their schedules and are looking good as the season wraps up.
■Jake Movsessian of New Ipswich was named to the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference All-Conference team after leading his Fitchburg State cross-country team to a fourth-place finish at the MASCAC championship last weekend.
Movsessian placed fourth overall individually with a time of 27:46.
■Clare Veverka of Hancock, a freshman at Quinnipiac took 44th place (23:42.96) as the Bobcats women’s cross country team took fifth at the 2019 MAAC Championships on Saturday.
■Lafayette College freshman Rachel Hurley of Peterborough finished 27th (23:03.5) at the Patriot League Championships Saturday as the Leopards took seventh place overall. Hurley finished as the eighth fastest freshman at the meet.
■Evan Coyne of Hancock, a freshman at Bryant University, set a new personal best at the NEC Championship at Central Connecticut on Saturday, finishing 32nd in 27:09.4 as the Bulldogs finished sixth overall.
■Skyler Gauthier of Peterborough, a junior at Keene State College, finished 17th (20:03.65) at the Little East Conference championship Saturday, as the Owls took second as a team.
