Terrapin Glassblowing Studio will host Kerri Cordeiro as its Featured Artist for the month of October.
Cordeiro was born and raised in Somerville, Massachusetts, and moved to the Monadnock Region in 2016. Cordeiro studied design and printmaking at Boston University. She currently owns and operates Tall as a House, where she creates hand-printed paper and textile products ranging from note cards to tote bags.
Tall as a House is an experiment in patterns, color, medium, and material. The ink, paper, and fabric used are meant to play off each other in the light. Some combinations have a singular contrast – others will pop, darken, or disappear at different angles and in different lighting. Twilight is particularly nice.
Everything is handmade in small batches and evolves with each iteration. Cordeiro is a one-woman show – drawing patterns, mixing ink, screen-printing, cutting, folding, gluing, sewing, and riveting.
Her crafts will be for sale at the studio during open hours, Wednesday through Sunday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Terrapin Glassblowing Studio is located at 79 Hadley Road, just off the intersection of Route 202 and Old Sharon Road in Jaffrey. For more details, call (603) 593-5073, visit www.terrapinglass.com or find them on Facebook.
