Ricky Baruch and Deb Habib give a shout out to Mike Lombard and his Peterborough based Ideal Compost as a favorite product provider to their Seeds Of Solidarity Farm and Education Center in Orange, Massachusetts.
Together, Baruch and Habib have just published a book recounting the transformation of a previously abandoned farm into their solar-powered farm site now, 20 years later, a healing oasis of abundant gardens, greenhouses, and handcrafted, energy-efficient buildings.
“Making Love While Farming: A Field Guide to a Life of Passion and Purpose”, is equal parts memoir, inspiration, and handbook. The authors will be at The Toadstool Bookshop in Peterborough on Saturday, June 29 at 11 a.m. to sign and discuss the book and the educational programs offered at the farm.
Rooted in the authors’ three decades of experience in the field and as educators and community organizers, the book affirms the possibility and necessity of lives and livelihoods that respond to environmental and social justice issues with creativity, love, and balance. Engaging presenters and teachers, Baruch and Habib are committed to sharing practical yet visionary approaches to regenerate soil, restore climate, and revitalize communities.
This event is free and all are welcome. For more information, call 924-3543 or check toadbooks.com.
