Please raise the net metering cap

To the editor:

Both houses of the N.H. legislature have passed a bill to raise the reimbursement for energy generated by citizens and contributed to Eversource. Our Governor has vetoed the bill, as if the energy we generate is worth nothing.

Here is a letter I have written to my legislators, encouraging them to override that veto: I am hoping that N.H. is able to override the Govโ€™s veto of HB 365 and ensure that those of us who are stepping up to invest in renewable energy sources can gain some help and be repaid by Eversource for the extra energy theyโ€™ll receive from our efforts. I am planning to do my part. It will not cost the state anything to raise the cap on net metering and demand that Eversource reimburse me for the energy I send to them.

I have paid for Eversourceโ€™s investments in energy generation for years. I will still pay for the wires, etc. If I and other citizens give energy back to the grid, we should be paid. Please raise the net metering cap. Please encourage your fellow legislators to do the same.
