To the editor:
Over the last 10 years, I have had the opportunity to get to know Bill Taylor both personally and professionally. As a relative newcomer to the region, one thing I learned quickly is the importance of relationships. Bill is well known and respected. Whenever I, the newcomer, needed something such as a skilled person in a given trade, I’d go to Bill for a recommendation.
I could count on Bill to help me with making that new connection with others of similar integrity. After the ice storm of 2008, I saw a need, formed a plan, and came to Bill with vision of establishing a commercial presence in Peterborough for a renewable energy venture.
Bill’s work in real estate helped with property acquisition. His work in the fire protection industry helped with establishment of sales channels and supplier relationships.
Bill’s interests in renewable solutions was apparent through participation in several past Greenerborough town events right here in Peterborough.
Challenges bring opportunities. I learned that commercial lending has different barriers to entry, fewer borrower options and less long-term stability. Small business operating margins tend to be tight, and talent in the trades that is critical to success can be hard to find. In time, and as my key talent left the region, the venture would change hands. During this transition Bill made connections solving two problems; he helped another long-time business owner here seeking a new location find my uniquely suited space, a win-win!
My story is a testament to Bill’s character. Bill brings a broad mix of skills and a proven track record of following through. Heโs deeply caring and thoughtful and works tirelessly for causes that he is passionate about. There is no questioning Bill’s passion for his home town of Peterborough. Please consider supporting Bill in his bid for selectman.
