An Antrim teenager accused of making an online threat to ConVal High School in November has been indicted by a Hillsborough County grand jury on two felonies.

Anthony Wheeler, 19, was indicted on two class B felonies – criminal threatening and reckless conduct – on March 13.

The criminal threatening indictment alleges that while in the town of Antrim on Nov. 7, “Wheeler threatened to commit any crime of violence with the purpose to cause the evacuation of a building, specifically the building of ConVal Regional High School, when Wheeler posted a photograph to his SnapChat account depicting M.B. holding two realistic-looking firearms with a caption stating, “Don’t go to school Wednesday” or words to that effect.”

The reckless conduct indictment alleges “Wheeler recklessly engaged in conduct which may place another in fear of serious bodily injury, when he posted a photograph to SnapChat depicting an individual holding a deadly weapon … which could have resulted in serious bodily injury to school personnel and/or first responders.”

Each felony carries a penalty of three and a half to seven years in state prison as well as a $4,000 fine.

An indictment is a ruling by a grand jury that there is enough evidence to take a case to trial.

Wheeler’s arrest came after police investigated an online threat Nov. 7, causing the ConVal School District to close all of its 11 schools in the district for one day.

He was initially charged with three felony-level counts of criminal threatening.

Wheeler was not the student in the photograph, but the post was allegedly made to his Snapchat account. Police have alleged two other students were involved with the incident, but because the students are minors police have not released their names.
