An Antrim man died in a single car crash in Hillsborough on Friday night, police said.

Allen Elliot, 34, was traveling west on West Main Street around 9 p.m. when his vehicle spun around 180 degrees and left the roadway, Hillsborough Lt. Derek M. Brown said in an email Monday.

The driverโ€™s side of the vehicle then struck a utility pole in the area of Tractor Supply Co.

โ€œThere were attempts to resuscitate Elliot on scene, however, he succumbed to his injuries,โ€ Brown said.

Brown did not have any details about the specifics of Elliotโ€™s injuries.

A female passenger was taken to Concord Hospital with serious injuries, according to a Hillsborough Police Department press release.

Brown said Monday that the passenger has since been treated and released from the hospital.

Police say alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash. There are no pending charges.
