Amy Stodola of Harrisville will show her paintings of Friends, Fruits, & Flowers at the Hancock Town Library Feb. 16 through Mar. 27. Amy works mainly in oil on small canvases, painting subjects including cats, dogs, and still life.

Always interested in creative arts, Amy began painting in 2001 after taking a class at the Sharon Arts Center in Peterborough. In 2008, she began volunteering at Monadnock Kitty Rescue and Adoption in Jaffrey, and soon began painting small portraits of the shelter cats to help with publicity fund-raising for the shelter. Since then, she has painted portraits of more than one hundred shelter cats, with a portion of sales going to the shelter. Amy also enjoys painting dogs, pigs, and chickens, and does pet portraits on commission.

The exhibit can be viewed during regular library hours: Mon. and Wed., 2-6 p.m.; Tues. and Thur., 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; and Sat. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Please call the library (603-525-4411) before visiting to ensure no special events are scheduled at that time.
