The town of Rindge will hold its deliberative session this Saturday at Rindge Memorial School beginning at 9 a.m.

There are two dozen warrant articles scheduled to appear on the ballot this year, including the town’s proposed $4.05 million operating budget and a petition article asking voters to ask the Jaffrey-Rindge School District to complete a study analyzing a potential dissolution of the district.

This year’s proposed operating budget is a 1.88 percent increase – or $74,885 – over last year’s figure. Should the budget not pass, the town will have a $3.99 million default budget. 

The following warrant articles are also on the ballot:

■to raise $90,000 for the second payment of the fire department’s engine one

■to raise $20,000 for the Wellington Road bridge replacement capital reserve account

■to raise $33,600 for the revaluation capital reserve account

■to raise $195,225 for a replacement dump/plow truck, with $160,225 coming from the unassigned fund balance and $35,000 by trading in the old truck

■to raise $315,000 for a replacement grader, with $285,000 coming from the unassigned fund balance and $30,000 by trading in the old grader

■to raise $145,000 to purchase emergency generators for the highway garage, town office, recreation center building, and meeting house, with funds coming from the Electric Light Trust Fund

■to raise $20,000 for the Ingalls Memorial Library trust fund

■to raise $12,000 for the cemetery expendable trust fund

■to raise $15,000 to replace the town’s sand shed roof

■to raise $55,000 to purchase a new server, software, and costs associated with the changeover to a new assessing and tax collecting system, with funds coming from the unassigned fund balance

■to discontinue the Rindge 250th expendable trust fund, all remaining funds and interest will transfer to the town’s general fund

■to take $24,000 from the fire department capital reserve fund to purchase replacement radios for the fire department

■to raise $8,000 to purchase energy efficient replacement street lights

■to establish a revolving fund for the maintenance and replacement of equipment and the general operating expenses of the transfer station and to add $79,666.56 from the unassigned fund balance to the fund

■to restrict revenues from the sale of transfer station permits, punch cards, and recyclables to the special revenue fund for the transfer station and to put all remaining funds from the fund into the town’s general fund

■to authorize the town to transfer a 3.9-acre portion of town-owned property to another owner in exchange for a 17-acre portion of land

■to raise $50,000 for the highway department equipment capital reserve fund

■to allow the operation of Keno within town – submitted by petition

■to raise $2,500 to support the Contoocook Lake Area Preservation Association – submitted by petition

■to increase the optional veteran’s tax credit for service-connected total disability from $2,000 to $4,000 – submitted by petition

■to raise $8,000 for the 2019 library budget to create a full-time youth librarian position – submitted by petition
