A fiery single-car crash on Perry Road in Rindge the day after Christmas – that resulted in the death of a New Ipswich teen – remains under investigation, state police said Tuesday.
Nina Colasanto, 19, of New Ipswich, who was a passenger in the crash, died of her injuries from the crash this Saturday, state police confirmed in a press release Tuesday morning.
On Dec. 26 around 8:13 p.m. New Hampshire State Police, Troop C responded to assist the Rindge Police Department with a motor vehicle crash on Perry Road in Rindge.
Colosanto was taken to UMass Worcester Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Tesla, Travis Olson, 17, of Rindge, and the second passenger, Chelsea Holombo, 17, of New Ipswich, were taken to the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough with serious but non-life threatening injuries and were released.
“On January 19, 2019 it was learned by the New Hampshire State Police that Colasanto had passed away as a result of her injuries,” state police said in the press release.
“The investigation revealed that a 2017 Tesla Model X had been traveling eastbound on Perry Road when it left the roadway, struck a tree, and split in two. The vehicle then ignited. The occupants were initially assisted by private citizens in the area, as emergency services responded,” state police said.
