Three local teens were injured in a fiery crash in Rindge Wednesday night. One teen, a 19-year-old New Ipswich woman, suffered life-threatening injuries.

“While all aspects of the crash are still under investigation, it appears that speed was a factor in this crash,” state police said in a press release Wednesday night.

New Hampshire State Police, Troop C, responded around 8:13 p.m. to Perry Road in Rindge to assist Rindge police at the scene of the single car crash.

A 2017 Tesla Model X had been traveling eastbound on Perry Road when it left the roadway, struck a tree, and split in two, state police said.

“The vehicle had then ignited. The occupants were initially assisted by private citizens in the area, as emergency services responded,” state police said in the press release.

The driver of the Tesla, Travis Olson, 17, of Rindge, and a passenger, Chelsea Holombo, 17, of New Ipswich, were taken to the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

A third passenger, Nina Colasanto, 19, New Ipswich was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts with life-threatening injuries.

Due to the serious nature of the crash, Rindge police requested the assistance of the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (C.A.R.) Unit, which then responded to the scene.

Firefighters from Rindge, Jaffrey, Fitzwilliam, Troy and New Ipswich along with the Jaffrey/Rindge Ambulance and the Peterborough Ambulance responded to the scene to assist.
