Two of Wilton-Lyndeborough’s Destination Imagination teams will be moving on to state competition, after placing first in the regional competition.
Destination Imagination is a club based around teams working cooperatively to fulfill different challenges through teamwork and ingenuity. Wilton-Lyndeborough sent four teams to the regional competition, held in Swanzey on March 17. All four placed within top three of their categories.
The Wilton-Lyndeborough Cooperative High School team, made up of seniors Kendahl Rae, Nora Marcinuk and Morgan Anderson, placed first in the “Fine Arts” category “Change of Tune” challenge.
In the same challenge, the mixed high school team, consisting of 8th to 10th graders, placed third. That team consists of Kylie and William Durso, Lily Gendron, Keegan Hall, Natalie Houston, and Alyssa Putnam.
Competing unopposed, the elementary team, Team Red Fox, consisting of Sydney Beam, Addy and Evelyn Jones, Paisley Silva, Aidan Sours and Jodwyn Turgeon placed first in the Improvisational category challenge “Treasure.”
In the same challenge, the middle school team, consisting of Hadi Lancari, Dylan and Jeremy Phillips and Zaid Turgeon placed third.
The Destination Imagination State Tournament will be held on April 1 at Bedford High School. Top placers will be able to move on to the Global competition, held annually in Tennessee.
