Hancock officers responded to a two-car collision on Route 202 near the Bennington town line on Thursday afternoon.
Police officers were dispatched to the scene around 3:47 p.m.
An investigation revealed that Dudley Baker, of Hancock, was driving a grey 2014 Subaru Forester when he crossed the center line and struck the side of a silver 2010 Toyota Yaris that was being driven by Clement Martel, of Washington. Baker told police that he had fallen asleep at the wheel, which led to the accident.
No one involved in the accident reported any injuries. Both drivers, as well as a passenger in Martel’s car, were checked by first responders.
The Subaru sustained significant front-end damage and the Toyota sustained moderate front and rear-end damage, according to a police report posted on a social-media site. Two road signs were also damaged as a result of the collision.
