An unidentified woman was airlifted to a Lebanon hospital on Sunday evening after sustaining “serious bodily injury” on Lake Monomonac in Rindge.
The adult woman was injured around 4:30 p.m. after falling off the back of a jet ski that she was a passenger on, according to a press release from the NH State Police Division of Marine Patrol.
Laura Gugliotta, a telecommunications specialist for the NH State Police Division of Marine Patrol, said in an email Monday morning that her lieutenant advised her there was no new information to give out, but did add that the division was awaiting a call from a medical examiner.
The woman had initially been transported to Monadnock Community Hospital for evaluation, but was later air-lifted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, according to the release.
When asked if the woman had died, Gugliotta said “as far as I have heard from the higher powers a death has not yet been confirmed.”
The woman was unconscious, not breathing, and did not have a pulse when Rindge Police Sergeant Daniel Anair arrived on scene, according to a field interview report obtained by the Ledger-Transcript.
Anair reported that he was dispatched for a rescue call at Lake Monomonac where CPR was in progress. Anair took over CPR and chest compressions upon his arrival. An AED was used at one point, but it advised no shock and CPR was continued.
The report makes no mention of whether the woman regained consciousness, breath, or pulse.
An adult male who was also a passenger on the jet ski told Anair that they were traveling on the lake when he felt the “woosh” of the woman falling off the jet ski. The male passenger then tapped the shoulder of the operator, another adult male, to signal him to stop.
The Marine Patrol press release mentions that the jet ski was towing an inflatable device behind it.
The two men then jumped into the water and loaded the woman back onto the jet ski, according to the report. They were then able to flag down a boat, which helped them tranport the woman to the boat landing near North of the Border on the Rindge/Winchendon, Massachusetts town line.
The Rindge Fire Department, Winchendon, Massachusetts Police Department and state police also responded to the incident.
Rindge police and fire would not comment on the incident, referring all questions to Marine Patrol.
