The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating a fall last week in which a Rindge man was injured at a construction site on Route 119.
The man fell 20 feet in the incident, which occurred at a job site in Rindge. Emergency responders were called to the scene at about 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, according to Rindge Fire Chief Rick Donovan.
The man was working on a group of 60-foot trusses when they collapsed.
“They had four more to put up and for whatever reason they came down like dominos,” said Donovan. “There was temporary bracing that didn’t hold.”
Donovan declined to give the name of the man injured, but said he was 34 years old. The man was transported to Monadnock Community Hospital with chest and rib injuries, and was eventually transported to UMass as a precaution.
As of Friday morning, Donovan said that he spoke to a third party who said that the man was “fine, just sore” and that he had no life-threatening injuries.
The injured man was working the construction of a showroom for Triumph Interiors. The building is being constructed on Route 119 near Cathedral Road, in between the Cathedral Business Center and Route 119 Mini-Storage.
