February:

Franklin Pierce University’s men’s hockey team cancels the rest of its season with three games left following a hazing incident.

ConVal’s Eli Tamok wins the Division II state Alpine ski meet at Cranmore and earns a berth in the Meet of Champions.

Mascenic’s Briana Boulerice and Conant’s Kristyn Simoneau both land top ten finishes at the state swimming championships at UNH.

ConVal’s Dan Curran and Eric Wall are both runners-up in their respective weight classes at the state wrestling championships at their home school.

March:

The Conant girls’ basketball team’s 48-game win streak is snapped in the DIII semifinals, when the Orioles come up short against Laconia. 

The Conant boys’ basketball team also falls in the semis, after running into Kearsarge and their pair of giant centers, the Mattos brothers.

The Mascenic spirit team wins the state championship and moves on to the New England meet.

April: 

Jennifer Leedham has to step down as head coach of the Franklin Pierce women’s basketball team after her immigration visa renewal is denied. Leedham is a native of England.

May:

Great Brook beats SMS in a baseball showdown at ConVal.

The USA PowerLifting championships come to ConVal, allowing local weightlifters to compete against the nation’s best.

The Franklin Pierce baseball team hosts – and wins – the East Regional for a berth in the College World Series.

June:

The Conant girls’ tennis team finally beats Littleton for the school’s first-ever DIII championship.

Conant’s Jammie Mascitti breaks the school pole vault record as both she and Tyler Sands make it to the track Meet of Champions.

The Mascenic softball team is knocked out in extra innings the semifinals by White Mountains, after losing a 7-2 lead.

The SMS baseball team wins the Tri-County Championship.

The New Hampshire Wild bring summertime semipro baseball to Franklin Pierce.

July:

Madison Springfield of Conant and Dan Curran of ConVal are named as the Ledger-Transcript’s Female and Male Athletes of the Year.

September:

Maxine Dunn of Peterborough and her Hartwick College field hockey team dedicate their season to Gus Dreher, a Peterborough boy with Duchenne’s muscular dystrophy.

October:

ConVal football ties the school record for wins in a season when they beat Pelham for victory No. 6 at homecoming.

Conant boys’ soccer qualifies for the NHIAA playoffs for the first time in years.

Franklin Pierce men’s ice hockey coach Bruce Marshall dies unexpectedly just before the season is to begin.

The ConVal boys’ soccer team finishes the season at 16-2 after falling to Goffstown in the quarterfinals. The 15-1 regular season mark is the best regular season record for ConVal of all time, just shy of the 17-2 mark set in 1994 for overall record.

ConVal’s co-ed unified soccer team loses in the playoffs, after going undefeated in the regular season.

The SMS girls’ soccer team makes the Tri-County finals.
