Girls’ basketball Mascenic loses to Newmarket

The Mascenic girls’ basketball team got their first taste of Division IV defeat on Tuesday, when they got kicked by the Mules of Newmarket in a 41-34 affair. It was a close game down the stretch but the Vikings couldn’t hold off their foes.

Jordyn Babin scored a team-high 13 points and Meagan Brand scored 10.

The Vikings (1-1) move from playing a DIV opponent all the way up to DI on  Sunday as they travel to Keene State to play the Keene High Blackbirds on the first day of the Keene Holiday tournament, which is spread over two weekends this year. Game time is at 6:30 p.m.

Conant will also take on Fall Mountain on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.
