Peterborough Fire Department responded to an alarm at the apartment complex at the intersection of Union and Pine Streets on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2016, after a resident reported seeing smoke outside their window. Crews checked the complex with a thermal imaging camera, and physically for signs of fire, smouldering or fire sources but found nothing, and determined the “smoke” was likely steam from a dryer vent or the heavy fog.
