Town employees in Dublin can expect a 1.5-percent raise in next year’s budget.
The Select Board met Monday and discussed potential raises for town employees, deciding on a 1.5 percent cost of living increase.
“I think 1.5 percent is good,” said Select Board chair Walter Snitko. “Like Paul said, some areas have increased and some have decreased [regarding cost of living].”
The only employee who will not get a cost of living increase will be Town Administrator Sherry Miller. In an interview Tuesday, Miller said her salary will increase to $62,000,which is up from $59,917.77 the year before.
Miller said last year a two-percent cost of living increase was given. The year before, a two and a half-percent increase was given.
Road Agent Brian Barden told the board he is working to repair a street light and fire hydrant at the oval in the center of town after a tractor trailer truck struck both.
Barden said the hydrant should take $400 to $500 to fix. Barden did not say how much the street light could cost to fix.
Selectman Sturdy Thomas recommended that Barden pursue the tractor trailer company for the money to repair the hydrant and street light.
Barden also said he was interested in creating memorials for veterans of the Korean and Vietnam wars, a project the board supported.
The board discussed a potential plan to create a warrant article to paint the exterior of the town hall. The board also wants to add a box over some of the electronic components outside to protect them from various types of weather.
