A rumor that a ConVal high school student was the subject of racial discrimination the day after President-elect Donald Trump won the election is said to be unfounded.

Principal Brian Pickering said the rumors stemmed from a conversation the morning after the election when a small group of students were talking about Trump’s comments about building a wall on Mexico’s border.

He said another student overheard the conversation and was offended.

“Interviews determined that is was a discussion about remarks heard from President-elect Trump and nothing that was intentionally directed towards an individual,” Pickering said in an email.
