In commemoration of Veterans Day Thursday, Scott-Farrar at Peterborough will celebrate the return of the organization’s original flag pole and the raising of the United States flag. Through Sen. Kelly Ayotte’s office and the Capitol Flag Program, Scott-Farrar will be raising a special flag that has flown over the Capitol building in Washington, D.C.
The celebration will take place at 12:30 pm and the Monadnock Squadron of the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps will be represented.
The Corps is for American youth ages 11 – 18 who have a desire to learn about the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine.
The flag raising will be followed by refreshments.
“We are pleased to thank and honor each of our residents who have so bravely served our country,” notes Lara Shook, CEO. “This celebration is a small token of appreciation for our residents and all veterans in our community.”
Veterans, their families, and friends of veterans are invited to participate in the celebration. The community is also welcome to attend.
