The Apple Hill String Quartet has released a new CD with works by 17th century English composer Henry Purcell, Turkish composer Ahmed Saygun, and Irish fiddle tunes creatively reimagined by American violinist Dana Lyn.
Members of the string quartet are Elise Kuder and Colleen Jennings, violins; Michael Kelley, viola; Rupert Thompson, cello. This ensemble is the only resident string quartet in New Hampshire and performs around the world.
The quartet will be performing on Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Community Church of Harrisville and Chesham in Harrisville. The 4 p.m. concert will feature works by Haydn, Beethoven, and Pavel Haas with mezzo-soprano, Jazimina MacNeil.
