The ConVal field hockey team got the best of Conant once again on Saturday, winning 5-0..
Five different players scored, several with their first career goals. Senior Hannah Garfinkle added the first one, her seventh of the season, a rebounded shot off the Oriole goalie. The second goal was off a corner drive from sophomore Julia Peters touched in the air by junior Natalia Hautanen (a first for both). Dee Kashulines netted her fourth of the season to end the first half.
In the second half, junior Dom Wheeler touched the ball towards goal and senior Zoe Crowley scored her first goal with just 7 minutes to go in the game. Crowley served up a pass of her own to teammate Kelly OโSullivan who finished the game off with her third goal this year.
Senior goalie Hannah Reinfrank had her second shutout of the season. ConVal finished the season at 4-9-1, just out of the running for the DII tournament.
Conant, saddled with a short roster that left them with no subs, finished winless at 0-14 and only scored twice this season. Earlier in the week, in a 7-1 loss to Newport, Conant junior Shyanne Forrest put the ball in the net for the Orioles.
