The Franklin Pierce women’s bowling team finished their trip to Kutztown University as they competed in the final day of the 2016 Bud Whitman Memorial.
The Crimson and Grey earned four wins and now stand at 7-2 on the young campaign. FPU defeated Youngstown State in the first match of the day 982-896 and followed that up with a win over Caldwell (963-743).
FPU finished seventh of 18 squads with a total pin fall of 4684. Day one leader Delaware State placed first as they knocked down 5,130 pins. They were followed by Saint Francis (Pa.) in second (4,763 pins) and LIU-Brooklyn (4,748 pins).
Colleen Kelly (Quincy, Mass.) led the squad with a total pin fall of 1,013 (202.6 average). Jessica Davies (Cape Coral, Fla.) was second on the team with a 982 pin fall (196.4 average) and newcomer Krysta Peirce (Lenox, Mich.) knocked down 957 pins (191.4 average).
Kelly recorded a team-best 256 score in the Ravens first match against Youngstown State.
The Ravens return to the alley next Saturday, October 22nd at the Sacred Heart Bowl for the Cure.
