The Hancock Depot Cabaret will feature the Bradford Bog People on Saturday, Oct. 1.
The Bog People play lively foot-stomping traditional music of the Appalachian Mountains, from eastern Kentucky, the Virginias, Ozarks, and North Carolina, performed on banjo, fiddle, mandolin, and guitar. Their music features rhythmic clawhammer banjo and fiddle, unusual fiddle tunes played in archaic tunings, and ballads.
The show begin at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. for performers โ musicians, poets, story-tellers, comedians โ who want to sign up for one of several open mic spots.Snacks and veggies will be available. Drinks are BYOB. A 50/50 raffle will be held. Proceeds go to help support the Depot Association.
On Nov. 5, the featured performer will be Eddie Mattau, and on Dec. 3, the Folksoul Ensemble will be featured.
