“Rusted Remnants,” a collaborative exhibit honoring vintage North America, will be opening at the Jaffrey Civic Center on Friday, Sept. 9, with a reception.
Artists Guy Biechele, Alicia Drakiotes, Susan Ellis, Louise Parmenter-Hammerman and Brad Willard will present works in fine art, fine art photography, and sculpture.
Works displayed will honor the history of the iron horse, shipping vessels, early farming sheds and many more subjects that have influenced North American life and lifestyles.
Guy Biechele is an accomplished fine art photographer whose images have been exhibited in galleries in New England and across the United States.
Alicia Drakiotes is a full-time New England artist. Her primary medium is oil painting and she focuses on vintage Americana subjects and local landscapes.
Susan Ellis searches for found object to create fundamental sculptures. “One person’s trash is another’s treasure.”
Louise Parmenter Hammerman, a retired N.H. high school art teacher lives in Westminster, Massachusetts, and has been actively painting for the past 14 years. Although primarily an oil painter, she also works in acrylics and soft pastel.
Brad Willard loves the outdoors and photography. He enjoys finding the art in things that others might consider junk, and recreate in an abstract way everyday things seen in an urban setting or in the woods.
The opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Cunningham Gallery, where the exhibit is on display.
The exhibit will be open until Oct. 1.
Admission is always free. The gallery is open during regular business hours, and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
