The First Saturday Contra Dance at the Peterborough Town House will be held on Sept. 3.
Adina Gordon will call the dances with music provided by David Langford, Kate Barnes, and Glen Loper.
Gordon has called contra dances in 37 U.S. states spanning all six time zones, as well as three Canadian provinces and Israel. Fiddler Dave Langford is an experienced and versatile veteran of 20 years playing for contra dances. He combines multiple styles of fiddling with energy and drive.
Dancing begins at 8 p.m. with a workshop for new dancers at 7:30 p.m.
An open jam session for beginning and intermediate musicians will be held at 6:30 p.m.
Admission is $10 and $7 for students and seniors.
The Monadnock Folklore Society sponsors the dance.
