The Milford Area Players will present a production of “One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest” at the Amato Center for the Performing Arts with an opening performance on Friday, Aug. 12.
The play, written by Dale Wasserman and based on the novel by Ken Kesey, centers on Randle P. McMurphy, a charming rogue who contrives to serve a short sentence in an airy mental institution rather than in a prison. He clashes with the head nurse, Nurse Ratched, a fierce martinet. Quickly, he takes over the yard and accomplishes what the medical profession has been unable to do for 12 years.
The cast includes John Sheridan of Temple.
Performances will be held on Fridays and Saturdays, Aug. 12, 13, 19 and 20, at 8 p.m., and Sundays, Aug. 14 and 21, at 2 p.m.
General admission tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for seniors 60-plus, and students.
Tickets can be purchased in advance at the Toadstool Bookshop, Milford, or online at www.MilfordAreaPlayers.org.
Tickets also will be available at the door.
