Dan Weeks of Nashua, a candidate for Executive Council from District 5, went on a “handshake tour” of District 5’s 33 towns on Thursday – which happened to be National Handshake Day. He hoped to shake 500 hands by the end of his tour.
“I hope he’s being very careful with his hand,” said Honey Hastings of Temple, who met Weeks and shook his hand outside the Peterborough Town House. “500? That could be tough.”
Weeks said his efforts to get out to all the District 5 towns were in contrast to current Executive Councilor David Wheeler’s approach, which Weeks found lacking.
“We’ve seen a lot of downshifting of costs to towns and cities,” Weeks said. “The localities are paying the price on that.”
