Administrators from ConVal High School and Conant High School are excited to announce that the following color scheme, mascot and acronym have each been unanimously selected by a group consisting of representatives from both ConVal and Conant including student-athletes, coaches, admin and booster club.

The color scheme will be a blend of the primary ConVal and Conant colors and will be navy blue and orange.

The mascot was a bigger challenge, as blending a Cougar and an Oriole is no easy feat. However, thanks to the recommendation of the student-athletes, there is a legendary creature with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion; the head and wings of an eagle; and an eagleโ€™s talons as its front feet โ€” thus blending both cat and bird into one โ€” a natural fit. This creature is called a Griffin and will become the new mascot of the cooperative ice hockey programs.

The final piece of decision making was the acronym and that will be โ€œCCโ€ for ConVal/Conant.

The CC Griffins take the ice this winter.
