Summer activities begin Monday at the Jaffrey Public Library. In honor of the Summer Olympics, this year’s summer reading program is sports- and games-themed. Activities range from yoga to DIY projects to board games.

The kick-off event, a Zumba dance party, is on the library lawn at 1:30 p.m. on June 27.

Adults and kids get to try yoga. Other children’s activities include a fun Olympics competition and the perennial favorite, the splash fest held on the Library lawn.

Teens also have their pick of several events, including a “Hunger Games” match.

Other choices include pizza and gaming and giant outdoor Scrabble! In addition to special events, weekly storytimes, and summer children’s movies, Jaffrey Public Library will continue its annual reading challenges. Participants record their summer reading in order to win prizes. Registration for the reading challenge begins June 27. For more information, call the Jaffrey Public Library at 603-532-7301 or visit in person at 38 Main Street. Many events require advance registration.
