Peterborough Summer benefit

The Monadnock Center for History and Culture will hold its 2016 summer benefit on Sunday, June 26, at The Farm on Windy Row in Peterborough from 3 to 5 p.m.

The benefit will feature a $20,000 challenge – two generous donors have pledged $10,000 to match gifts made to the benefit – and a historical mystery to raise funds for the Monadnock Center’s museum, programs, and events.

In an unusual twist, guests will be asked the question, “Who was Uncle H?” When they arrive, they will be given a unique clue that sheds light on the identity of the property’s early 20th century owner, Uncle H. They will have the chance to explore Uncle H’s barn and to play history detectives, comparing clues to piece together the story of this interesting figure from 100 years ago. At the close of the party, guests will be invited to share their findings before Uncle H’s true identity is revealed.

Tickets for this benefit are $125 for an individual and $200 for a couple. For more information about the “Who was Uncle H?”benefit, visit the Monadnock Center’s website at MonadnockCenter.org or call 924-3235.
