Friday may represent the end of the era for the Wilton-Lyndeborough class of 2016, but one phrase will bind the 46 students together for years to come: once a warrior, always a warrior.
Friends and family of the class of 2016 gathered Friday night at the Wilton-Lyndeborough High School gym for the school’s annual graduation ceremony, complete with speeches by students and staff, as well as a rose ceremony where each student passed out flowers to loved ones.
“Imagine standing on a bridge with water below: we are all teetering on the ledge,” said Class President Madison Bailey. “It’s the scariest jump of our lives. But always remember that we are all standing there together.”
While graduation is a daunting event for many seniors, Valedictorian Allyson Schwab spoke of all the things the class of 2016 will lose and gain.
“The best loss is never having to eat school lunch again,” said Schwab, who will attend Plymouth State University in the fall for a degree in exercise and sports physiology. “There is so much talent and promise in this class. We will only find more to gain as time goes on.”
