Jammie Mascitti broke the Conant school pole vault record – for the second time this year – as both she and Tyler Sands qualified for the New Englands during Saturday’s Meet of Champions. Mascitti, who’d already broken the Conant record of 8’6” by six inches in May, cleared 9’3”, which was good for sixth in the state. Londonderry’s Jordan Dusfresne cleared 10’3” for first.
Sands finished fifth in the 100M dash at 11.66 seconds, also earning him a trip to next weekend’s New England Championships at Willow Brook Park in New Britain, Connecticut.
Sands also finished 10th in the 200M dash.
Mascenic senior Avery Traffie finished 10th in the 3200M run at 9:46.94. Teammate Jake Movsessian finished in 17th at 10:03.11. Alvirne’s Kendall Westhoff won the event in 9:24.78.
For ConVal, Liam Baldwin competed in the triple jump, leaping 37’9” to place 16th overall. Dalton Coyne was few ticks off his best in the 800M, running 2:03.60 to finish 17th.
Coyne then teamed up with Caleb Putnam, Josh Fulton and Daniel Kashulines to compete in the 4×400 meter relay, running 3:34.23 to finish 12th.
Sophomore Ree Bell stayed consistent in the shotput throwing over 30 feet again to place 15th. Freshman Savanna Hall finished 13th in discus with a throw of 90’8.”
Freshman Clare Veverka had the highest finish of the day, placing 7th in the 3200M run, just one place outside of a New England championship qualifier.
