Joel Cohen, folk troubadour, songwriter, political activist and mail artist, will be the featured performer at the Parish Hall Open Stage at the Unitarian Universalist Church for First Friday, on June 3.

Known by many as “The Sticker Dude,” Cohen of Brooklyn, New York, is a printer by trade, and well known on the New York City open stage circuit where he performs on guitar, sings, recites original poetry, and passes out his stickers to audience members.

The evening festivities will begin with an open stage of local, regional and out-of-state musicians beginning at 7:30 p.m. Open mic will continue after the featured performer until 10 p.m. Spoken word artists also are well received. Any local or regional talent wishing to play on stage need only sign up between 7 and 7:30 p.m. Each artist customarily plays two or three songs before and after the feature.

Performers also can sign up by contacting Jack Kid at jackkidmusic@gmail.com . The first three callers will be guaranteed slots.

A piano and sound system will be available.

A $5 donation is requested at the door.
