ConVal, Conant and Wilton-Lyndeborough competed at the Monadnock Invitational on Saturday, where the Cougar boys came in first and an Oriole girl set a new school record. 

The ConVal  team balanced hair and nail appointments with appointments on the track before many members of the team headed to prom on Saturday. 

The girls’ team finished second overall with first place finishes from Lucy Freeman (1600m run) and Clare Veverka (800m run).  

The boys’ team took first place by a wide margin with first place finishes from Ryan Murray (shot put), Liam Baldwin (triple jump), Dan Kashulines (400m dash) and the 4×400 relay team of Carter Hunt, Evan Coyne, Trevor Hanley and Palmer Timmons.

For Conant, Jammie Mascitti set a new school record as she cleared 9’ in the pole vault.

Brandi Pugh took first in the girls’ long jump at 16’3.5”.

Tyler Sands, naturally, won the 100m dash, the 200m dash and the high jump.

For WLC, Charlotte Bailey competed well in the throwing events, placing in the top ten in discus, shot put and javelin.

The WLC boys saw strong performances from Samuel Bailey (second in shot put, fourth in discus, fifth in javelin) and James Barton (third in 110m hurdles, third in long jump, second in triple jump).

ConVal will be at the DII championships at Portsmouth on Saturday at 10 a.m. Conant and WLC head to the DIII championships at Newfound Saturday at 2 p.m.
